BCQ 2014 Highlights!!!

What an amazing experience I had at the first-ever Black Canadian Awards this past weekend! It was so thrilling to be a Beauty Pageant contestant representing Saskatoon, SK and being honoured for my local community involvement!

Here I am in the dressing room of the "Queen Elizabeth Theater" getting ready for the pageant, we can call this my "Before Picture":



Also got my hair done in this original twisted up-do by hairstylist Leticia Hayton of Beauty Time! Loved it!!! #sograteful 



With the help of talented make-up artists and other behind the scenes magic, this "After picture" was produced:

Back-stage conversations with presenters and contestants as well as I was excited to meet mayoral hopeful Olivia Chow, as far as I'm concerned she will become the next mayor of Toronto #watchandwait

The beauty on my left won the "Humanitarian Award" and I won the "Most Accomplished" based on the following highlights:
  • Raised over $4400 in in-kind sponsorships and private donations through the "Go Fund Me" campaign (surpassing my goal of $1000 and totaling $1070 in 26 days)
  • Promoted the Black Canadian Awards event and pageant involvement through various social media channels including this Official site, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube
  • Live Guest appearances on "The Chonilla Network" and "The Lori and Cher Show" podcasts as part my pageant campaign

I have the fantastic opportunity to be a part of a budding new Google Hangout show called The Lori and Cher Show!!! These two hosts are cousins who have a love for celebrity news, current events and all things awesome! It doesn't get any better than that:)

I will be joining these two ladies along with other guests for some "Hot Topics" and discussion about the Black Canadian Awards and my involvement with the Black Canadian Queen Pageant.

Black Canadian Queen Journey!

What a wild ride 2014 has been, especially since a lot of my time has been spent promoting my Black Canadian Queen pageant campaign! It is getting close to the event date (June 7th) and I am getting to the end of my campaign, but I am giving one last PUSH! Here are ways to assist me in reaching my goals:
